Small studio life means being able to contribute to lots of aspects of game development. We've got a great opportunity for someone awesome to join our growing & unique design department at Squanch Games. We're looking to bring on a senior designer who has experience in the discipline’s many facets, but may have a few specialties in their back pockets. We need someone to help lead the charge on one of our upcoming hilarious, narrative-driven games.
You probably have experience in game development, specifically as a lead designer or senior designer prior. You have experience with both short and long ship cycles with scrappy teams.
You read and/or play games most days. You know what’s going on in our industry and can’t wait to talk to others about it.

Regardless of whether your tech background includes programming, scripting, or working in engine editors, we need folks who are flexible and willing to dive in and make changes.
An expert in one of these fields:
Blueprint or gameplay design
Lead a team to conceptualize and execute comedy driven gameplay experiences
Work with our CCO and Lead Designer to take exciting new ideas from whiteboard to prototype
Ensure consistent creative vision and prioritization alignment
Be an individual contributor in Unreal Engine 4, owning design end to end along with documentation
Collaborate and evangelize the game to partners and potential new-hires
Seek feedback and adjust as necessary, communicating along the way
Be the arbiter of quality: you know what great looks like and aren’t afraid to lead others in how to get there
Be a closer: You have structure and process, and have no problems finishing out your designs for ship.
Play to your strengths and not be afraid to admit your weaknesses.
